Ovulation issues are a common cause of infertility. Timed ovulation, or ovulation induction, is a strategic way of optimizing the fertile window by using medication and guidance from our care team. The fertile window is a specific stage in the menstrual cycle when conception is most likely to occur, and it typically falls between five days before to several hours after ovulation. If an individual isn't ovulating or has irregular menstrual cycles, medications to induce ovulation may be the first approach to achieve a successful pregnancy.
What Does a Timed Ovulation Cycle Involve?
While every aspiring parent and situation differs, you can typically expect the following during a timed ovulation cycle.
Fertility Health Consultation
You and your partner (if applicable) will meet with your physician for testing and a personalized discussion of your fertility health and family planning goals. Together, you will decide if timed ovulation is the right choice for you and create a personalized treatment plan.

Ultrasound & Blood Monitoring
Patients will have ultrasound and lab work appointments every 2-3 days to monitor the ovaries and egg development and to assess hormone levels. Through this testing and monitoring, we are able to track the patient’s cycle and help optimize their chances to achieve pregnancy.
